My military service shaped more than the beginning of my career. It established the leadership principles I continue to bring into cybersecurity and governance today: prepare before the need arises, understand the mission, take ownership, communicate clearly, and build systems that help people succeed.
Readiness
My military experience taught me that readiness is not something created immediately before an inspection, exercise, or emergency. It is built through training, documentation, clearly defined responsibilities, and consistent execution.
Today: This philosophy influences how I approach cybersecurity assessment readiness, continuous monitoring, tabletop exercises, and sustainable compliance programs.
Accountability
Military environments reinforced the importance of clearly defined ownership and accountability. Effective processes establish who is responsible, what is expected, when action is required, and how completion is demonstrated.
Today: I apply those principles when developing governance frameworks, assigning control ownership, establishing evidence requirements, and designing repeatable workflows.
Leadership
Some of the most important leadership happens across organizational boundaries rather than through direct authority. Military service taught me how to coordinate people with different responsibilities, priorities, and expertise around a common objective.
Today: That translates directly to working across cybersecurity, engineering, program leadership, security, system administration, and government stakeholders.

My Air Force career was shaped by a series of assignments that steadily expanded my responsibilities—from vehicle operations and deployment support to logistics planning, global mobility, and senior enlisted leadership. Each assignment required me to adapt to a different mission, environment, and level of responsibility.
The experiences below represent more than duty locations. They show the progression of how I learned to plan, coordinate people and resources, operate in complex environments, and lead with accountability—skills that continue to influence how I approach cybersecurity governance and organizational readiness today.
